It contains four analog channels and offers a memory depth of up to 500 Mpts. The minimum vertical adjustment is 100 µV/DIV for the HDO4000 series and 500 µV/DIV for the HDO1000 series. Two different impedances (1 MΩ, 50 Ω) can be set for the HDO4000 series.
The two new ASICs achieve a very low noise level of approximately 18 µVrms (for HDO4000) or
50 µVrms (for HDO1000). As with other RIGOL oscilloscopes, priority has been given to combining a high sampling rate, deep memory, and very high measurement speed. Even the smallest amplitude deviations can be measured thanks to the 12-bit vertical resolution. A high-resolution mode of up to 16 bits can also be activated for both devices. This means that very high resolutions in the horizontal and vertical areas are combined with very deep memory, thus expanding the analysis capabilities.
Among its most common applications are the analysis of switching measurements in the power field, automated testing in factories, analysis of protocols for serial buses in automotive electronics, measurements in electronic circuits, development applications and many more.
With "Ultra Acquire," RIGOL has integrated a new analysis method into both series, enabling a very fast triggering rate of 1.5 million waveforms/s. This facilitates the measurement of very fast, sporadic, and short-lived events. All devices feature a 10.1-inch HD (1024*800) capacitive touchscreen with 256 levels of brightness and color tones for precise and clear signal visualization. For maximum flexibility, the HDO4000 series allows for the integration of a standard 18650 battery, enabling measurements without a mains power connection.
They also have several shooting options, mathematical functions and display (FFT up to
1 million points, mask test and power analysis), an integrated signal search function, as well as all the usual serial bus protocol analysis and triggering functions. The integrated voltmeter and frequency counter complete the measurement range. They also incorporate several interfaces, such as USB 3.0 host, USB 3.0 device, HDMI, LAN (10/100/1000 Base-T) and AUX OUT.
Also available is an extensive range of accessories consisting of active and passive probes, high voltage probes (differential/simple termination), various current probes (up to 500 A), a 19-inch installation rack, software drivers for well-known packages and high-level languages, as well as a modern and fast web remote control via LAN.
The hardware contains a photoelectric encoder to operate the controls, which generate very little wear, thus extending the useful life.
As a special feature, Rigol offers numerous upgrades, such as higher bandwidths or memory expansion via software updates. Serial triggering and decoding (SPI, I2C, RS232/UART, CAN, and LIN) are already implemented in the oscilloscope. This minimizes the risk of a poor purchase because you can start with a smaller set of equipment and later adapt it to broader or more demanding measurement requirements in the lab. As always, Rigol hasn't made excessive promises in this regard and offers these fully configurable oscilloscopes with the best price/performance ratio. Rigol's well-known 3-year warranty completes the package for all users.
