Rigol offers this extension for entry-level models.
The DS1000Z (-S) oscilloscope models are supplied as Plus devices with a 16-channel logic analyzer ready to use. By purchasing the RPL1116 adapter (16 digital I/O), which includes a software license and a logic analyzer probe with 16 digital inputs, the device can be adapted to new tasks in a short time. All other options, such as serial decoding (RS232/I2C/SPI), memory expansion (12 Mpts to 24 Mpts), logging (segmented memory), and trigger extension, are already integrated as standard features on all devices.
The following "MSO Ready" or -Plus models are available starting at €399:
DS1074Z -Plus 70 MHz, 4-channel oscilloscope;
DS1074Z (-S) -Plus 70 MHz, 4-channel oscilloscope with integrated arbitrary function generator (2 channels, 25 MHz) as version S);

In schools and universities, as well as for semi-professional use in test labs, users can gain initial experience with a low-cost model and be convinced of Rigol's high quality and excellent service. Later, upgrades will allow for more demanding tasks with both analog and digital channels, enabling Rigol oscilloscopes to compete with other manufacturers.
Furthermore, shortly after the introduction of the expanded DS1000Z Plus, Rigol Technologies will also launch the DS2000A and MSO2000A(-S) models with bandwidths from 100 to 300 MHz, a sampling rate of 2 GS/sec, and two analog input channels.
Comprehensive options, such as memory expansion to 56 MioPts, recording functionality, serial decoding (SPI, I2C, RS232), CAN, and LIN, are also included as a free promotional offer.
This attractive model (DS2000A) starts at €495 for the 100 MHz version and goes up to €695 for the 300 MHz version. Mixed-signal versions (also available with the 2-channel, 25 MHz arbitrary function generator) are also available at very attractive prices, including the 16-channel logic adapter:
