WavePro HD 12-bit oscilloscopes enable engineers to develop smaller, faster, and lower-power mobile and handheld devices; high-speed embedded computing systems; and data center technologies. These applications are characterized by analog sensor inputs, sensitive power distribution networks (PDNs) with very low voltage power lines, and high-speed CPUs and serial data interfaces. They all require an oscilloscope with a combination of high resolution, low noise, high bandwidth, and very long capture times at high sampling rates to facilitate thorough system debugging.
All WavePro HD oscilloscopes feature a 15.6" 1900 x 1080 pixel capacitive touchscreen and Teldyne LeCroy's powerful OneTouch MAUI user interface. The family consists of four models with bandwidths ranging from 2.5 GHz to 8 GHz and sampling rates of up to 20 Gs/s.
At the heart of WavePro HD is the new 8 GHz chipset comprising a low-noise front-end amplifier and a 12-bit ADC. This chipset, tightly integrated with a new low-noise, high-bandwidth system architecture, unlocks the full potential of HD4096 high-definition technology in an industry-first 8 GHz 12-bit oscilloscope.
With WavePro HD's next-generation memory management architecture, 5 Gpts acquisitions are fast and efficient. Meanwhile, WavePro HD's advanced MAUI user interface makes it easy to find, navigate, and thoroughly analyze signal characteristics. The oscilloscopes can acquire data at 250 ms with a maximum sampling rate of 20 Gs/s and always with 12-bit vertical resolution.
In the WavePro HD, high-resolution analog inputs can be combined with optional mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) inputs to capture a wide range of analog sensor, digital logic, power traces, serial data, and other signals. A comprehensive standard set of analysis tools is complemented by serial data Trigger, Decode, Measure/Graph, and Diagram-of-the-Eye (TDME) options. Therefore, the WavePro HD performs industry-leading analysis of long acquisitions across any high- and low-speed signal, including power distribution network (PDN) signals, analog sensor inputs, digital activity, and serial data messages.
The WavePro HD's wide bandwidth and high vertical resolution are well-suited for measuring and analyzing the behavior of on-die and PDN systems. The wide bandwidth enables accurate characterization of high-speed, on-die effects such as ground effects, while the large dynamic range and precise 0.5% gain ensure complete confidence in sensitive measurements such as collapsed track characterization. Low noise, combined with spectrum analysis tools, helps extract and identify even the most subtle PDN aggressors. The RP4030 4GHz power-rail probe completes the WavePro HD's power integrity analysis capabilities.
In an EMC lab, the WavePro HD combines 2.5 or 4 GHz bandwidth with high sampling rates and resolution for accurate pulse characterization. Meanwhile, on the test bench, system designers must discern EMI sources within a dense electromagnetic landscape.
For serial data analysis, the WavePro HD's 12-bit resolution, very low noise level, and low jitter timebase (60 fs) give it significant advantages in jitter and noise measurements. The optional SDAIII and CompleteLinQ packages provide a comprehensive suite for serial data jitter and noise analysis, while the serial data compliance packages simplify the process of validating the physical layer of protocols.
The WavePro HD features a new ProBus2 probe interface compatible with 8 GHz BNC connectors. The new 8 GHz and 6 GHz ProBus2 probes connect to the WavePro HD, as well as to the 4 GHz ProBus interface of other Teledyne LeCroy oscilloscopes. Furthermore, ProBus-compatible probes also work with the new ProBus2 interface without adapters, ensuring compatibility with the wide range of existing probes.
