By emulating a single device, the Aeroflex TM500 DC-HSDPA test equipment provides low-level control and configuration, combining the detailed measurement data required by infrastructure engineers for rapid diagnosis of engineering issues. However, testing a base station with a single phone is not enough. Programming algorithms must be optimized, and the base station must be tested under load.
The TM500 DC-HSDPA Multi-user now supports the ability to test a base station and network configuration against a multi-mobile configuration. The TM500 allows base station and core network designs to be load-tested, stressed, and optimized to ensure robust, flexible, and high-performance products are delivered to network operators.

Manufacturers are required to test network equipment under real-world operating conditions. All major infrastructure vendors, as well as most femtocell manufacturers, currently use the TM500. The Multi-UE DC-HSDPA model is the latest addition to the TM500 family, offering support for 3G and 4G HSDPA standards via HSUPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA to LTE. The TM500 provides all the capabilities of a mobile phone or mobile phone suite, with advanced testing functionality for comprehensive 3GPP verification, validation, and optimization.


Dual-Cell HSDPA

extends the resource utilization and spectrum efficiency of existing W-CDMA networks, providing an alternative to HSPA+, boosting peak downstream data rates to a maximum of 42 Mbps. This is achieved by allowing mobile devices to utilize two adjacent 5 MHz channels on the same Node B simultaneously, creating a 10 MHz downstream bandwidth.
DC-HSDPA offers a maximum data rate of 42 Mbps without requiring spatial multiplexing MIMO (multiple-input/multiple-output), thus avoiding potentially costly hardware upgrades for the base station (Node B) and antennas that spatial multiplexing might entail. DC-HSDPA improves network efficiency and load balancing selection through resource and frequency allocation. DC-HSDPA also enhances Quality of Service (QoS) for users in poor environments where MIMO is not necessarily an option.
