ITT ICS has introduced a new “Space Saver” version of Nemesis with the lowest profile on the market and “Ripaway” uncoupling action for rugged, portable military communications equipment requiring power, data, and audio interconnections. Nemesis “Super Clean” connectors feature a patented “draw back barrel” design that allows for cleaning and reconnection in seconds for field use. The robust stainless steel construction provides durability, while the protective cable design eliminates cable strain. Other features include ITT ICS’s patented Pogo Pin contact technology, guaranteeing over 10,000 mating cycles and ensuring easy connector mating and unmapping while maintaining 360-degree EMI shielding. The Nemesis pogo pad receptacle design eliminates both the need for dust caps and the environmental dirt that is often a problem with non-pad receptacles. Further Nemesis design innovations include “blind docking” for a reliable and quick connection, without the need for visual or mechanical aids.
A salt-resistant, anti-glare coating on the connector housings protects the vital interface cable and helps to fully cover the solder joint during maneuvers in marine environments, while the non-grooved overmolding provides a non-slip grip in wet conditions. Available in black zinc nickel or electrolytic nickel plating that complies with RoHS, Nemesis connectors are tested for the upcoming MIL standards revision.
