Thanks to Souriau's team's more than 10 years of experience in zinc-nickel plating, this surface treatment is currently the only one to have received RoHS approval as an alternative to cadmium. All connectors in the 851 range, including the I-series inserts and housing, are available in a black zinc-nickel plated version.
In the MIL DTL 26482 Series I range, Souriau equipment has industrialized the most environmentally friendly zinc-nickel plating process, which has been used for many years in other markets such as the aerospace industry. These processes have the advantage of being more cost-effective and advanced than other solutions, but above all, they allow for the production of high-quality products that adhere to a standard and can be implemented on a large scale.
The 851 range zinc-nickel plated connectors can withstand temperatures between -55°C and +125°C and the zinc-nickel coating protection conforms to the ASTM B841 standard in terms of salt spray resistance up to 500 hours and its non-reflective black color.
