TPA clips, to secure the terminal in place, and interlocking vertical and rectangular headers provide power supply manufacturers with more options when designing solutions that meet the high current density requirements of the computer and telecommunications markets. The EXTreme Guardian system delivers 80.0 A per blade (185.0 A per inch) in a small form factor and features electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding.
The EXTreme Guardian solution is certified to UL and CSA standards and can handle voltages up to 600 V. It withstands high voltages with the lowest voltage drops and irreversible dissipative power losses (I²R). It features protected terminals and includes FMLB (first-mate/last-break) fail-safe connections to enable hot-swapping of power supplies and reduce network downtime. The PCB headers utilize guide pins for precise through-hole positioning of the connector on the board and are available in push-in and through-hole solder versions to expand manufacturing possibilities. The crimp terminals accept 10, 8, 12/12, or 6 AWG wire and are held securely by the TPA feature, while an integral locking mechanism protects the wire from accidental disconnections.
