Ideal for hybrid and fully electric technologies, these connectors can handle up to 1,000 V and 250 A per contact, offering vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and electrification system architects excellent shielding and current density. Available in diameters from 8.00 mm to 11.00 mm, several configurations are under development and will be commercially available soon, helping customers meet the specific requirements of their applications.
The HVHC Imperium system integrates an MX150™ crimp terminal with a high-voltage interlocking circuit (HVIL), which helps eliminate high-voltage arcing during disconnections, thus contributing to operator safety. The 360-degree closed-loop shielding design with grounding lugs mitigates electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) for more reliable onboard vehicle communications, while the front-mounted connector head simplifies grounding for device manufacturers. One-piece male and female contacts reduce resistance to minimize power loss, and the protective, insulated contact caps meet industry-standard "touchproof" safety requirements. The connectors also conform to the IP6K9K standard, protecting the connection against fluids in harsh environments.
