Safety functions can also be tested offline using the local safety controller function before the machine or machine module communicates with a central controller. Commissioning is faster when the devices are used in conjunction with a custom web server. The new I/O devices provide four safety inputs and four safety inputs or outputs (FDX) in the field. The flexibility of the FDX ports, in particular, allows for optimal coverage of the individual safety signal requirements of any application. The modules can be used for applications up to PL e, Category 4, in safety circuits up to SILCL 3. The safety outputs are rated at 2 amps per channel, for a total of up to 9 amps. With IP65/IP67/IP69K protection and an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +70°C, the encapsulated Turck TBPN & TBIP modules can withstand the harshest environments.
