It can be used as an access point to create the wireless network infrastructure, as a bridge to connect equipment on the network, or even as a repeater to extend the coverage of the wireless network.

The module offers point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication schemes and is compatible with all Ethernet-based protocols including MODBUS/TCP and Ethernet/IP.

Thanks to its integrated web interface, module configuration is easily achieved using any web browser; the module also offers SNMP and NDM (Network Device Manager) for configuration and administration.

Features:
- Direct connection to Schneider Electric M340/M580 PLCs, compatible single-slot rear module.
- Hot-swappable module for simplified maintenance.
- WiFi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g (2.4/5/5.4 GHz), up to 108 Mbps.
- Range up to 5 km with external antenna, 300 m line of sight with standard antenna.
- Security: WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, and IEEE 802.1X RADIUS.
- Web-based configuration, SNMP management.
- 3 auto-configurable 10/100 Base TX RJ45 ports, MDI-MDIX network interface.

Topologies

Wireless access to the M340/M580 from VijeoCitect or UnityPro.
The M340/M580 access point acts as a Modbus-TCP server. The VijeoCitect and UnityPro software are Modbus-TCP clients.
In this case, the Ethernet port of the M340/M580 CPU is connected to the PMXNOW0300 Wireless module, and a BMX NOE module is not required.

Wireless access and Ethernet switching capabilities are integrated into the module.
In this network architecture, we benefit from the integrated Ethernet switching capabilities of the PMXNOW0300, allowing us to connect up to three M340/M580 PLCs together.
There is no need for an external Ethernet switch.

Data exchange process between PLCs.
In the use case shown, we want to read and/or write some process values in both directions. We can use the READ_VAR/WRITE_VAR function blocks as if both PLCs were connected via an Ethernet cable.
No additional BMX NOE module is required.

Data exchange process between PLCs via global data.
Global data requires a NOE BMX to be connected to the PMXNOW0300 module.
