Various combinations of digital or analog I/O, integrated relays, serial interfaces, and network gateways are available to simplify networking devices such as data processing sensors, barcode scanners, weighing scales, switches, alarms, starter controllers, display controllers, and mechanical transducers. The outputs can drive resistive, capacitive, or inductive loads with high inrush currents.
With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, these modules are ideal for construction machinery, control panels, and I/O systems, as well as for retrofitting existing equipment. The range includes the ED-588, with eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs; the ED-516, with 16 digital inputs; and the ED-527, with 16 digital outputs. The ED-538 features four relay drivers and eight digital inputs. The ED-549 offers eight analog inputs. Each of these modules also includes an RS485 gateway. Finally, the ED-504 provides four digital I/O, an RS232/422/485 serial port, and an Ethernet switch. To further enhance the range, new modules with a thermocouple interface will be introduced soon.
Operating system compatibility includes Windows®, Linux, Android, Mac OS X, and iOS, enabling easy interaction with a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Modules can be configured and monitored using any device with a web browser.
Brainboxes' multi-platform software has been developed for use on the factory floor, and includes a set of APIs (application programming interfaces) designed from the ground up to allow easy integration into a system.
