Conventional monitoring systems require expensive integration technologies, servers, and surveillance systems, necessary for monitoring in industrial environments and large data centers. However, for use with just a few probes, this solution is overkill. Thanks to the new SensDesk.com portal, anyone can have a detailed view of their environment at home or in their business; the only requirement is an internet connection at the monitored site. In locations without internet access, a GSM/GPRS connection can be used.

The range of measurements it can monitor is very broad, from air temperature and humidity to flood detection and any combination thereof. It can even perform more complex monitoring in boiler rooms, freezers, and greenhouses. The values collected by the sensors can be combined with the results obtained from voltage, gas, or water consumption meters. Users can access the portal at any time to view current values and their progression over time. The portal monitors the sensors even when users are offline. When a value falls outside the defined safe range, the portal sends an alert via email.

Users can view and manage all connected sensors from anywhere, regardless of the distance between the sensor locations. Through the web interface, they can name sensors, locations, and groups, and set a safe range for each sensor. When a value exceeds this safe range, a notification is sent. Additionally, the SensDesk portal displays a summary of all connected sensors on a map, along with graphs of the measured values. All recorded data can be exported for further analysis.

The same ease of use that SensDesk offers its users is also available to technicians during sensor installation. The HW group sensor line includes a utility for configuring the connection via an account on the portal. Connecting the device to the Ethernet network with SensDesk takes just minutes, similar to setting up a Wi-Fi network in your home. No additional server configuration is required, thus avoiding extra costs.
