Each Ethernet port can be accessed by 16 TCP master/client devices or 16 TCP slave/server devices. In turn, each serial port can handle up to 128 master/slave nodes.
The devices support Transparent mode and Agent mode. In Transparent mode, the gateway bypasses and translates Modbus TCP/RTU/ASCII commands. In Agent mode, the gateway polls Modbus slave devices and stores the collected data in its internal memory. The Modbus master can retrieve this data from the slaves directly from the gateway's memory.
