The new Category 6 Z-MAX system uses the same simple and fast termination process as the Z-MAX 6A system. Using the Z-TOOL, connections can be terminated in less than 60 seconds from start to finish, including cable preparation.
“The positive market feedback on the Z-MAX 6A solution and its rapid completion generated requests for a Category 6 version,” explains Bob Carlson, Vice President of Global Marketing. “We listened to our customers and responded accordingly,” Bob comments. “The market for Category 6 is still mature, and this expansion of the MAX product line was a logical step.”.
In addition to Z-TOOL, the new Category 6 Z-MAX connection utilizes the patent-pending Z-MAX 6A linear termination module. This linear termination module allows the conductor wires to be pulled quickly and naturally into position without cross-pairing. By maintaining and protecting the wire pair geometry, it achieves consistent transmission performance and eliminates significant sources of noise present in other RJ-45 connections.
By using Premium 6 UTP cable, the unique design of the Z-MAX 6 connection offers greater performance and transmission margins. Furthermore, optimized noise resistance allows for very high patch density, so modular patch panels can support up to 48 ports in as little as 1U of rack or cabinet space.
Available in both flat and angled configurations, the Z-MAX 6 patch panel features a unique quick-snap design that allows Z-MAX 6 panel connections and pre-terminated trunk cables to be quickly snapped into place, accelerating initial deployment and subsequent moves, expansions, and changes. Combined with 48-port, 1U panels, the Z-MAX 6's Quick-Snap design and compatibility with pre-terminated trunk cables enable rapid deployment, superior flexibility, and high density in critical data center infrastructures.
For greater flexibility and ease of use, all Z-MAX connections in the work area feature a hybrid flat/angled design that allows for both mounting orientations with the same connection. New high-visibility icons provide a comprehensive color-coded identification system.
The Z-MAX 6 UTP end-to-end channel is supported by Category 6 MC patch cords and high-density BladePatch modular patch cords. The Z-MAX 6's hybrid flat/angled connections are compatible with all MAX series modular patch panels and faceplates.
