The material used to make the microtubes is very flexible. This allows for a smaller bending radius of the micromodule (down to 10 mm), eliminating the risk of pinching and subsequent fiber breakage common in conventional loose-fitting tubes.
Micro-modules are tubes with a very small diameter, allowing a large number of fibers to be housed in a much smaller space, significantly reducing the cable's diameter and weight. Each micro-module has a diameter 45% smaller than a loose-tube cable.
This also significantly impacts the overall cable weight: KeyFlex® cables weigh 50% less than loose-tube cables.
KeyFlex® cables can be used for indoor and outdoor installations, both underground and overhead, as they offer good mechanical strength and protection against radiation, rodents, and moisture. They are installed in trunk lines, distribution networks, and last-mile connections, as well as in local loop, metro, and long-distance applications.
The material from which the KeyFlex® cable micro-modules are made allows stripping or bleeding to reach the fibers to be done even with a fingernail.
Keyfibre ensures immediate stock availability and an extended 25-year warranty.
