AQ1200OTDRwebThese features are particularly relevant for FTTx applications, and they mean that Yokogawa can now offer a complete product line to meet virtually all the different requirements for the installation and maintenance testing of various types of fiber optic networks in different European countries.
The new AQ1200E is a triple-wavelength instrument that allows measurements at the standard wavelengths of 1310 and 1550 nm for network quality testing during the installation phase. Furthermore, for maintenance testing of active networks (avoiding interference with in-service signals), a third wavelength of 1625 nm can be used in conjunction with a cutoff filter. As a result, this instrument provides a complete kit for the installation and maintenance of active networks.

The other three new models (AQ1205A, AQ1205E, and AQ1205F) are high dynamic range versions (up to 42 dB in all three cases) for testing passive optical networks (PONs) with splitters up to 1x64. The AQ1205A has wavelengths of 1310 and 1550 nm, while the AQ1205E and AQ1205F are also triple-wavelength models, each with two ports: one for communication and one for maintenance.
A new feature has been added to the AQ1200 series: a measurement assistant that includes a macro for detecting fiber bends, multi-trace analysis, event and marker editing, and multi-core measurement. In addition to standard OTDR and fault location functions, the AQ1200 series offers a range of options including visual fault location, optical loss measurement (with light source and optical power meter), and Ethernet ping testing.
Despite its large 5.7-inch color LCD screen, these devices are small (A5 size) and lightweight (1 kg) for easy field use.
