Although, in terms of capacity, latency or management complexity, SDH-OTN networks are not comparable to WDM networks, they can be presented as an optimal solution that guarantees a minimal investment for operators.Precisely to meet the demand of these operators, Fibernet provides specific solutions for the transparent transport of services within OTN technology (transport of services over Carrier capacity).
The transported services, which include Ethernet protocols (FE, GE), Fibre Channel (1G, 2G, 4G), ESCON, FICON, and video (SD-SDI, HD-SDI, DVB-ASI), are encapsulated in an STM-16/OTU-1 or STM-64/OTU-2 frame and delivered to the SDH node (OTN), thus maximizing the return on investment for operators.

MUX platform offered by Fibernet allows the transmission of various low- and medium-capacity signals over a single optical carrier thanks to Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) technology and OTN encapsulation. 
The FB-MUX product family allows for installation in 21-inch racks and includes a range of cards that accommodate a variable number of ports, providing the system with versatility in terms of the density of transported services and supporting different low- and medium-capacity protocols.
Following the design policy of the C/DWDM multiplexer equipment previously developed by Fibernet, the FB-MUX platform also offers the possibility of providing security and optical redundancy to the deployed infrastructures.
