The appointment of Enrique Valer as Country President for Spain, Portugal, and South America reflects Schneider Electric's commitment to a more flexible structure and a more global approach in a market where emerging economies are playing an increasingly prominent role. Enrique Valer will report to Julio Rodríguez, who has led the group's business for Europe, South America, Africa, and the Middle East since last February. Enrique Valer, an Industrial Engineer from the University of Madrid and a graduate of the IESE Business School's PDG program, boasts over 25 years of experience in the electrical sector. He possesses a comprehensive and highly detailed understanding of the market, its operations, trends, and the electrical power industry. Valer began his career at Cabimetal as a sales engineer and later became Sales Director. In 1987, he moved to Merlin Guerin, which was acquired by Schneider Electric in 1993, to become Director of Industrial Implementation. Before assuming the role of Country President for Spain, Portugal, and South America in 2010, Valer held various positions within the company, including Director of Key Accounts and End Users, Director of the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Business and the Services Division, and Director of the Energy Market and Medium Voltage Infrastructure and the Services Division. In 2004, he was appointed Managing Director of Schneider Electric for the Iberian Peninsula, a position he has held until now.
