Since joining Equinix Itconic in 2001, Ignacio Velilla has been a member of the company's team, working with various departments and holding different positions within the Delivery, Sales, and Operations divisions. For the past two years, he has served as Director of Cloudmas Equinix and CTO of Equinix Itconic, roles that have strengthened his position within the company and provided him with the necessary experience to serve as the new Director in Spain.

My goals as the new director are to bridge the gap between the international structure and our subsidiary in Spain and to elevate our business to the next level, growing as a company while offering the best access to the Spanish market for all of Equinix’s global customers,” says Ignacio Velilla. “Furthermore, in Spain we have a very well-established customer ecosystem that has been working with us and trusting us for years, and my objective is to achieve its exponential growth. I am fortunate to have a wonderful team to lead me in this new professional challenge.”
Ignacio Velilla has spent his entire career in the IT sector, participating in major projects related to the digital transformation of business processes for some of the leading national and international companies. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the development of IT projects in Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, and has collaborated with clients such as Microsoft, Etisalat, FedEx, and Abengoa.
A telecommunications engineer from the University of Alcalá, Velilla holds a Master of Business Administration from EI Business School and a PMP certification from ESI International. He is an expert in data center and cloud computing services, as well as in the development and management of outsourcing and managed services projects, among others.
