The location was chosen in part to help companies meet disaster recovery objectives and enable synchronous replication.

The new data center's location also leverages Level 3's strengths in the financial services sector. Hayes is equidistant between the Chi-X trading platform in Slough and central London's financial services district, and is Level 3's primary low-latency route across the Atlantic.
