Sistel has primarily hired IT professionals with advanced technical degrees and university degrees for positions such as programmers, systems administrators, business analytics consultants, and Sage consultants. “We’ve sought professionals with more than five years of experience,” says Patty Álvarez, head of Sistel’s human resources department, “because we need to provide our clients with an immediate and effective response.”.
Most new hires come from the local market. “The University generates the talent we need, although there are specializations like Sage X3 and Java where it's not easy to find qualified candidates,” adds the head of human resources. To address this talent shortage in certain areas, in 2016 Sistel will launch an initiative called the “ICT Professionals School,” whose objective is “to invest in recent graduates or those with little experience and train them within the company, providing them with a specialization that will allow them to become part of the organization.” This initiative complements the talent acquisition and retention programs that Sistel develops to ensure its employees have the opportunity for an interesting and attractive career path within the company.
