Therefore, on this occasion we want to give a voice to one of our most veteran and beloved colleagues: Montserrat Alsina, a technician in the Service department, with 13 years of experience in the company.
Montserrat, how did you come to work at Socomec? What was your first contact with the company?
It's been 13 years since my first day. A colleague who worked in the Services department spoke very highly of the atmosphere and the team. Thanks to her recommendation, I had the opportunity to interview, and since then, I've been part of the Socomec family.
What motivated you to join Socomec, and what keeps you here?
What attracted me from the beginning was the opportunity to be part of a strong team where collaborative work is a daily occurrence. Over the years, I've had many opportunities to learn and grow, both professionally and personally. I also greatly value the autonomy we have; it's a sign of trust that allows you to give your best. All of this keeps me here with the same enthusiasm as the first day.
What personal values do you feel you share with the company?
Without a doubt, respect and responsibility. At Socomec, people are valued, they are listened to, and human interaction is prioritized, and that is fundamental for me. I also share that commitment to doing things well, with seriousness and professionalism. These are values that we not only apply at work, but that are also part of how we interact within the team.
What passions or hobbies do you have outside of work?
I love theater and film. They're two worlds that allow me to disconnect, feel moved, reflect… and sometimes even laugh out loud. I really enjoy discovering new stories, whether in a movie theater or on a stage. It's a way for me to nourish myself personally and creatively.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining Socomec?
I would tell them not to hesitate. Socomec is a solid company with very clear values, where people are valued. Here you have the opportunity to grow, to learn every day, and to feel part of a supportive team. Furthermore, it's an honest and professional environment where quality work is truly appreciated.
How would you describe the work environment in three sentences?
There's excellent communication between colleagues, which makes everything run more smoothly. Teamwork is truly effective: we all pull in the same direction. And above all, there's a palpable sense of respect and commitment in every project.
Are there any internal traditions or team events you look forward to?
Yes, the December convention. It's a very special time because we all get together, share our experiences from the year, and, above all, connect on a personal level. It's an opportunity to celebrate together, take stock, and start the new year with renewed energy.
Could you tell us an anecdote that represents the teamwork spirit at Socomec?
Not an anecdote, but I would highlight the teamwork spirit. Based on my experience in the services department, I have been and continue to be fortunate to work with responsible, altruistic, and supportive people.
What do you think makes Socomec special compared to other companies in the sector?
I don't have one specific anecdote, but I do have many experiences that reflect that spirit. In the Services department, I have been—and continue to be—fortunate to work with responsible, altruistic, and very supportive people. There's always someone willing to help you, offer a solution, or simply be there when you need them. That camaraderie makes all the difference and makes the day-to-day work much more human and enriching.
What do you think companies need today to become more humane?
I think the most important thing is to foster a positive work environment where people feel heard, valued, and respected. When a company truly cares about the well-being of its team, it shows in everything: in attitude, results, and commitment. Humanizing a company begins with taking care of its people.
What has been your happiest moment since joining Socomec?
For me, every day is a happy moment when I arrive at work with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, knowing I'll find a great environment thanks to the team we've all built together. That daily feeling of camaraderie and support is what truly fulfills me and motivates me to keep giving my best.
