The European project addresses the issue of diagnosing and minimizing perimeter security risks, where massive heterogeneity and unstructured policies related to IoT devices require new approaches based on automation and artificial intelligence. Under the Horizon 2020 program, Fujitsu and 13 other partners from nine EU countries will co-create solutions to protect against malicious behavior in systems and robots, aiming to increase the overall level of protection for industry, consumers, and society.
Securing the Next Generation of IoT Services:
This project is a joint effort by Fujitsu and other global leaders in IoT services and cybersecurity to secure the next generation of decentralized and dynamic IoT systems. The research partners will develop a range of data-driven, scalable, open, and end-to-end security services around the concept of predictive IoT security. This involves anticipating the security behavior of IoT objects through artificial intelligence and big data, as well as building realistic Industry 4.0 use cases. The solutions and recommendations implemented in the project are intended to guide IoT platform providers, solution integrators, and equipment manufacturers in ensuring their products and services align with existing and future security requirements.
Key factors in selecting Fujitsu as the technical leader include its Industry 4.0 activities and the new Industry 4.0 Competence Center the company has established in Munich, Germany. This brings together Fujitsu's industrial IoT expertise, IoT platform technology, device and service management, and first-hand manufacturing experience. The Competence Center provides significant resources, including approximately 300 experts in Europe and additional resources in Japan, to guide customers from project definition through proof of concept and the deployment of full implementations.
Note:
¹The project, which will begin in January 2018, will run until December 2020 and will receive funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
