From this center, all of the company's projects in the area of Identity Management are managed, incorporating on-demand profiles that are quickly trained for development, thanks to its knowledge management process.
“For Hewlett-Packard, the creation of this Center represents a significant step forward in further strengthening the company's role in a field as critical for public and private organizations as Identity Management,” says Jordi Cardona, Identity Management Manager at HP Technology Services in Spain. “At HP Spain, we have been creating sophisticated solutions for years that are being implemented in companies around the world, and this new initiative represents a major boost to an area in which HP holds a privileged position both nationally and internationally.”

Three Objectives, Key Instruments:
The HP CDC formalizes and industrializes the development, maintenance, and improvement of the various identity management connectors HP is currently working with, with the clear mission of reducing delivery time to our clients and maximizing quality levels.
Connectors are a crucial part of successful Identity Management implementation, as they enable communication with applications to add/delete users, modify data, and so on, thus simplifying the process of adding, deleting, and modifying users in company applications and systems, as well as access control. Experience is fundamental to achieving efficient and effective implementation.
The HP CDC has three main objectives. First, to share knowledge and experience in identity management, specifically in application connectors. Second, to have a team of experts in this area who can serve different HP clients. Finally, to establish agreements and technical relationships with manufacturers to access the best technical support from them.
To ensure maximum effectiveness, the HP CDC utilizes several tools, including:
Sponsorship from the HP Technology Services Security Practice to guarantee the Center's alignment with the practice's service objectives and portfolio; the creation of a Steering Committee, comprised of HP's leading experts in this field, to conduct thorough monitoring;
agreements and alliances with Identity Management technology vendors to provide appropriate access to their product management, support levels aligned with HP's current contracts, and ongoing training for our technicians;
knowledge-sharing tools, including a portal with documentation on work procedures and collaborative work planning; and
best practices and tools for the collaborative development and management of connector source code.
For his part, Francisco Martos, technical director of the HP CDC, believes that “this Center undoubtedly has some of the leading European experts in the field of connector development and Identity Management, which gives us a privileged position when it comes to offering both public and private companies unique solutions on the market and, always, the most suitable one for each specific case.”
