This agreement establishes the terms under which the various users of the SECOMSAT system may request maintenance services for a maximum amount of 42.8 million euros over the next three years, extendable for another three.

The framework agreement is divided into three lots, corresponding to the different types of systems that make up the communications network. Indra has been chosen as the sole contractor for two of them (lots 1 and 2) and for the third it has been selected in a joint venture with Telefónica.

The SECOMSAT network systems are used by agencies of the Ministry of Defense, the three Armed Forces and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).

The maintenance activities that Indra will provide will include support tasks of all kinds, from preventive maintenance and equipment repair to the provision of engineering work to ensure the evolution of the terminals and to incorporate the technological advances that arise.

The company will also be responsible for adapting the systems to the specific environmental conditions of the missions these units must carry out, as well as the required operational specifications. This will involve introducing new features and improving existing ones. The main objective of this work is to achieve the highest possible system availability, ensuring their operational readiness.

Today's strategic environment demands that the Armed Forces possess a rapid response capability, requiring reliable systems for the secure and timely transmission of information. This makes satellite communications an essential asset for participating in international missions or coordinating operations in any environment.

Indra has been the main contractor for the Spanish SECOMSAT program since 1994 and has been responsible for deploying this advanced communications network. It has also played a significant role in the deployment of Brazil's SISCOMIS military satellite communications network and has supplied a number of terminals of various types to that country.

In recent years, Indra has designed and developed satellite equipment and terminals that cover all types of operational needs, thereby promoting a broad industrial fabric of high technical qualification.

Ships, submarines, vehicles or land forces from countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, India or Brazil, among others, use the company's solutions and technology.

Indra has adapted its satellite communications systems to also serve the civilian market, having implemented its technology in sectors as diverse as transportation, telephony, and media. The company has thus gained a strong position as a global competitor in this market.
