Among other tasks, the company will supply four ground stations. Two of them will be installed at the Hispasat control center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while another will be put into operation at the Maspalomas center in the Canary Islands, and the fourth at the Arganda del Rey center in Madrid. Several existing stations, supplied under previous contracts, will also be upgraded.
With Amazonas 5, Hispasat will respond to the growing demand for satellite capacity, primarily for satellite television platforms, in Latin America and Brazil. It also has Ka-band capacity to support new internet connectivity services.
Hispasat 1F will replace Hispasat 1D and provide additional Ku-band capacity for the Andean and Brazilian regions. Furthermore, Hispasat 1F will expand Hispasat's transatlantic capabilities for its Europe-America and America-Europe connectivity and add Ka-band capacity with European coverage, further enhancing its broadband services in the region.
With this new contract, Indra reinforces its close collaborative relationship with Hispasat, spanning more than 20 years. During this time, the multinational has implemented the system that controls the Amazonas 1, 2, 3, and 4 satellites and the Hispasat 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, and 1E satellites.
