Interoute is the first global provider to offer two zones in Switzerland. Businesses can use the new Zurich zone in conjunction with the existing Geneva zone to create secure, dual internal flexibility, as well as benefit from the global reach of the other 12 zones available in the Interoute Cloud.

The new Interoute Virtual Data Centre in Zurich was built in response to customer demand. Interoute is continuously expanding its Infrastructure as a Service platform, now with 14 VDC zones worldwide. Switzerland is the third European country where Interoute offers dual-capacity locations, already available in the UK (London and Slough) and Germany (Berlin and Frankfurt). Users benefit from speeds as fast as 4 millisecondswhen sending a data packet between Zurich and Geneva and vice versa. The global reach of Interoute's cloud platform extends from the US West Coast, through a dense network of VDC zones covering Europe's business hubs, and eastward into Asia.

Interoute VDC features a user-friendly online interface and can also be controlled via an extensible API. Customers can choose to store their data in any of 14 zones, giving them complete control over where their files and applications are hosted. Furthermore, data transfer between Interoute VDC zones is free, making it extremely flexible and cost-effective for creating multi-zone IT and data architectures and reaching multiple markets worldwide.

Diego Matas, Managing Director of Interoute Iberia, commented: “Companies operating in Switzerland and Europe need fast and powerful cloud services, and for that, they need local locations. As one of the fastest-growing enterprise cloud providers, we are building our interconnected cloud that allows us to deliver fast and reliable services close to our customers. We offer public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions on an automated cloud platform that provides lower latency, greater flexibility, and a cost-effective user experience.”.
