In a building where versatility is the norm, the communications network must be equally robust. Therefore, Ikusi has developed a unique project, designed for a unique building. The ultimate goal is to enable the AlhóndigaBilbao team to bring their ideas to life, and to achieve this, they have an IP-based network with a wealth of features. Ikusi was also responsible for the Wi-Fi system, access control, occupancy monitoring, public address system, and IP television system. Furthermore, Ikusi incorporated a Digital Signage system into its project. Through approximately fifteen screens, including the atrium's LED display, a variety of constantly updated information is provided, allowing visitors to learn about the venue's activities, general information such as gym hours and prices, and much more. The Digital Signage system is also used to provide wayfinding information and as an orientation map.

Technology with social awareness
Furthermore, the project Ikusi has developed for La Alhóndiga includes systems specifically designed for users with disabilities. One example is the Hearing Loop, a sound system that transforms the audio signal we can all hear into a magnetic field that is picked up by the hearing aids of people with hearing impairments. The result is that the user receives clear, crisp, perfectly intelligible sound at an appropriate volume. This system also helps the hearing impaired to evacuate the building in case of emergency. Specifically, this Hearing Loop has been installed at customer service counters, in cinemas, and in the auditorium. In addition, the building has been equipped with lights in strategic locations so that in the event of a fire alarm, they will illuminate, alerting those who cannot hear the announcements made through the public address system.

A whole set of systems that Ikusi has integrated so that the Alhóndiga can realize its vocation of becoming an engine of leisure and culture in Bilbao.
