The participating IoT companies and products were evaluated by a panel of editorial staff members, representative of different areas of the industry. The best of the best were selected for products that demonstrated a unique level of versatility and creativity for services and platforms. “The award winners earned the recognition of the Connected World editors for creating outstanding solutions that enable companies to break new ground through IoT platforms, in an effort to monitor and network operations, or simply to help make our world a little more connected,” said Peggy Smedley, editor and publisher of Connected World magazine.
u-blox proudly accepts the award given to its two newest GNSS modules, which offer unique IoT solutions: the NEO-M8U and NEO-M8P. The NEO-M8U is the industry's first untethered dead reckoning (UDR) GNSS module. It provides accurate GNSS location information, even under poor signal reception or despite errors caused by multipath signals, and is not connected to the vehicle's network. It is ideal for automotive applications such as pay-as-you-drive insurance, with premiums that vary depending on vehicle usage, or vehicle servicing and monitoring. The NEO-M8P provides centimeter-level accuracy at a reasonable cost and is the world's smallest embedded real-time kinematic (RTK) module. It supports applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotic guidance systems.
"We are delighted to receive this award which highlights u-blox's commitment to developing innovative solutions for the IoT market," said Florian Bousquet, Head of Market Development for the NEO-M8U at u-blox's Positioning Product Center.
