Norrsken operates a regional network in Sweden, offering Layer 1 WDM services and Layer 2 Ethernet services. To meet the demands of major Internet service providers, operators, and other customers who rely on Norrsken's network, it ensures high resilience by using a primary route along the coast of Sweden and an inland redundancy route along the country's western border.
With Infinera TM-Series, Norrsken can provide its customers with an optical packet network with multi-service capabilities including MEF 2.0 certified Ethernet services and Optical Transport Network (OTN) aggregation designed for a wide range of services, including enterprise applications, mobile backhaul, wholesale bandwidth, and metro aggregation.
Infinera TM-Series is providing Norrsken with an optimized 100G transport solution that enables them to offload 100 gigabit Ethernet wavelengths over high-traffic routes. Infinera worked with local partner Fiberdata AB in Sweden on Norrsken's network upgrade, collaborating to deliver the chosen network solution.
“Upgrading Norrsken’s network with the Infinera TM-Series was a natural choice for us,” commented Björn Jonsson, CEO of Norrsken. “Norrsken already has TM-Series in our network, and with the new 100G metro solution, they are now able to provide 100G services to our customers as well, delivering an even more scalable, high-capacity network.”
"Norrsken and Fiberdata have been strong supporters of the TM-Series packet optical solution in Sweden," commented Nick Walden, senior vice president of EMEA Sales at Infinera. "TM-Series continues to deliver on speed and bandwidth scalability, enabling Norrsken to pass these benefits on to its customers."
