The official bid, submitted by Instagi, the Gipuzkoa Business Association of Installers and Maintenance Companies, received the majority endorsement of the presidents of the 54 associations that make up FENIE to host an event to be held between October 26 and 29 of next year.
San Sebastián is considered one of the most attractive tourist cities in Spain and Europe and boasts a long tradition and worldwide recognition as a tourist destination, as well as a privileged location next to the French border in an area of ​​unparalleled beauty.
The bid has the explicit support of the Basque Government, through its Department of Industry and Energy, as well as the City Council and the Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce, among other entities. San Sebastián offers a variety of venues to host the Federation's most important event. It also has a remarkable cultural and tourist offering, with a wide range of culinary options and a comprehensive hotel infrastructure.
The FENIE Congress is held biennially and is usually held in the second half of October. The last edition took place in La Rioja in October 2008, and was attended by more than 500 people, including delegates and their companions.
