The new facilities were presented by José Luis Ruiz Espejo, president of the PTA, Francisco de la Torre, mayor of Malaga, Juan Antonio García Galindo, vice-rector of the UMA, and Paulo Magro da Luz, vice-president of CGI Spain.

CGI, which also has a Global Delivery Center in the PTA where another 50 professionals work providing application management services, has expanded its facilities in The Green Ray where it will house its software factory after the growth experienced during the last few years.

Company officials have expressed their interest in continuing to grow in Malaga. Their goal is to reach 200 employees across both work centers by the end of next year.

Paulo Magro da Luz, Vice President of CGI Spain, also noted that “we have found the best conditions for our growth in Malaga. We have top-notch facilities and highly qualified professionals here. We are proud to contribute to the city's development, creating jobs and enhancing Malaga's reputation as an ideal location for technology companies.” Finally, Magro da Luz recalled that CGI celebrated its 40th anniversary this month and that Malaga has been part of the company's global network of over 400 locations since 2004.

For his part, the president of the PTA, José Luis Ruiz Espejo, pointed out that he highlighted that "we are succeeding in making the Park valued not only for its quantitative capacity, such as its number of companies or workers, but also for its qualitative capacity, and it has consolidated itself as a brand associated with innovation, development and above all with the capacity for growth since betting on it means ensuring the future."

“Along those lines, we also launched El Rayo Verde, with the intention of linking the talent that comes from the University with the knowledge and development generated by companies, and for this reason we appreciate CGI's trust in our brand and their confidence in us to continue betting on this innovative initiative and to invest in Malaga, a land that attracts companies because it is a land where talent grows.”

The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, highlighted CGI's commitment to promoting Malaga as a technology hub. The company has been a member of the Malaga Valley Club since October 2012 and has given presentations to its clients to attract talent from other countries, primarily Nordic, with the aim of fostering collaboration with its Malaga branch.

The Mayor stated that the City Council is proud to have contributed to CGI's decision to expand its presence in the city and that it is great news for Malaga's technology sector that this expansion will now take place in El Rayo Verde, in partnership with the PTA (Andalusia Technology Park).

For his part, Juan Antonio García Galindo, Vice-Rector of the University of Malaga, pointed out that it is a very important fact that a cutting-edge technology company like CGI is setting up in The Green Ray building, which is shared by the University and the PTA.

CGI has been present in Spain since 2004, serving clients from multiple sectors and countries as a trusted partner in IT and Business Process Consulting services, Systems Integration, Application Development and Maintenance and Outsourcing.
