and helps them identify optimal hard drive configurations for large IT infrastructures, such as storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), video surveillance systems, and cloud storage.

According to Rainer W. Kaese, Senior Director of HDD Business Development at Toshiba Electronics Europe, "This new HDD Innovation Lab represents a major step forward in providing tailored solutions and a boost to HDD technology." Kaese added, "It demonstrates Toshiba's commitment to driving the industry forward and supporting customers and partners with expertise and technical resources. We look forward to strengthening existing collaborations and exploring future business opportunities that the new facility will bring."

Comprehensive testing services.
Evaluating hard drives and architectures specific to each client is one of the lab's core capabilities. It provides a platform for developing proofs of concept (PoCs) and configuring unique architectures. In fact, a key differentiator of the lab is its ability to perform comparative evaluations of storage architectures based on hard disk drives, such as different servers, JBoDs (Just a Bunch of Disks), chassis, controllers, cables, and software for operating systems, video management, and storage. The facility also features equipment for precise power analysis to perform energy consumption benchmarks.

Following the evaluation, the hard drive innovation lab provides customized answers to customer questions, ensuring that the knowledge gained from rigorous testing is shared effectively. It also conducts internal research on the performance and optimization of its own hard drive product lines. The results, in the form of technical documents and lab reports, are available on the Toshiba Storage website.

Sharing Knowledge:
Following the evaluation, the HDD Innovation Lab provides customized answers to all customer questions to ensure that the knowledge gained from rigorous testing is effectively shared. It will also conduct internal research on the performance and optimization of its various hard drive ranges, available on the Toshiba Storage website.

To further support customer engagement, the lab offers additional services, such as loaning samples for self-evaluation. This service is available for both small and large quantities of HDDs, ensuring that customers can thoroughly evaluate the devices in their own environments.

Finally, Toshiba will also use the facility to conduct live demonstrations of enterprise applications, video surveillance, and NAS/SAN in preparation for its participation in trade shows, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of the latest advancements in storage solutions.
