With C2 Backup For Individuals and C2 Backup For Businesses, Synology C2 users can back up all files hosted on their Windows-managed servers and computers from a single platform. This includes system settings and software, files, folders, and external drives.
Data stored in C2 Backup is completely protected against unauthorized access using end-to-end AES-256 encryption. Furthermore, the user will have a private key necessary to unlock protected files and sensitive information.
Flexible, programmable backups
C2 Backup uses a continuous progressive backup to optimize storage and bandwidth. This reduces the amount of data uploaded in each backup, loading only the blocks that have changed, thus making the process more efficient.
Each user can configure their version retention preferences, adapting the policies to meet individual needs or to comply with corporate regulations.
C2 Backup also offers scheduling options to ensure backups aren't missed or forgotten. Users can choose to run backups periodically or configure them to start when the screen locks, when the user logs off, or when the device is turned on.
Quick and complete restoration options
In the event of device problems, data loss, or ransomware attacks, C2 Backup's rapid recovery methods allow users to quickly resume their activities. This makes it possible to recover any file immediately and also facilitates restoring all devices to a previous state through a full or bare-metal recovery.
"Users of individual devices will be able to easily find and quickly download their data through C2 Backup's intuitive console," Lin explains. "Version control also allows them to recover older copies of their files when needed."
Unlimited results and transparent pricing
The price of C2 Backup For Individuals is based on storage usage and has no limit on the number of devices included in each subscription. Annual subscription rates start at $2.50 per month for 300 GB of protected data or less than $8.50 per month for protection of up to 2 TB.
Availability
C2 Backup is available in two subscription plans: C2 Backup For Individuals and C2 Backup For Businesses.
Users who sign up for C2 Backup For Individuals during 2021 will be offered a free 90-day trial period, allowing them to explore the platform's new features.
