Mutica is an SMD antenna for all dual-band Wi-Fi applications, especially those requiring high-speed data transfer and multiple input/output (MIMO) applications, for example, security cameras, video cameras, set-top boxes, and connected vehicle devices.
Its specifications also suit Wi-Fi access points, portable electronics, headphones, PC cards, game consoles, network devices, and wearable electronics.
"In 2014, 2.4 billion Wi-Fi-enabled devices were sold worldwide, and the industry will surpass 10 billion cumulative Wi-Fi devices by early 2015," says Colin Newman, Director and Vice President of Sales for Antenova. "More than half of the products sold are dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz, and the market is expected to grow even further over the next five years, making 802.11ac the dominant WLAN standard. 802.11ac 5 GHz offers high-definition video streaming with more channels and less interference than 2.4 GHz. This, along with the high efficiency of the Mutica antenna, will help support faster data speeds, fewer disconnections, and longer battery life in portable devices.".
Antenova takes a unique approach to antenna design, which it calls "Design for Integration" (DFI). Because antennas are always integrated within a customer's product, Antenova designs them so that RF elements can be easily added to the customer's design, and so that the antenna provides excellent performance when placed on the PCB.
Antenova provides advice on RF design and antenna integration, along with engineering and customer support, and supplies customers with CAD files of each antenna's footprint free of charge.
The Mutica antenna is the first in the new lamiiANT FR4 SMD antenna family that Antenova announced earlier this year
