Thanks to its easy installation, users simply connect the SmartPlug between the power outlet and the appliance. Any appliance, such as lamps, televisions, heaters, and electric radiators, can be switched on or off manually or managed remotely with a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The SmartPlug's integrated measurement function measures the energy consumption of each appliance to identify potential energy hogs. Consumption data is uploaded every 15 minutes to the automated web portal at www.homemanager.tv, where users can set schedules, program and receive alerts, and monitor consumption.

Online services for added comfort and security:
Temperature and humidity settings can be applied to switch electric heating on or off based on a preset temperature or humidity level. For example, a second-home owner might want to set a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius during the winter to prevent water pipes from bursting while the house is empty, or automatically switch on the heating if the humidity exceeds a specific set point. Temperature and humidity alarms can be set up to alert users when anything is out of the ordinary.

Total energy consumption can also be tracked through the portal, and the forecasting feature can estimate annual electricity costs. Automated alerts can be scheduled if the energy budget is expected to be exceeded sooner than anticipated, allowing users to better manage their electricity consumption over a specific period. The portal also offers optional features such as statistical comparisons and interactive world maps.

Vacation Guard
SmartPlug can also be manually activated or deactivated. This feature is very useful if the homeowner wants to return to a warm home after a long vacation.

Night Guard
SmartPlug's night protection capability allows users to remotely control groups of lights at different times. This feature allows homeowners to give the impression that someone is home when they are away.
