in a PXI format factor for the validation of designs and manufacture of transmitters and components of mobile radar, military, satellite and commercial communication devices.
The innovative design of the M9393A allows engineers to validate the actual performance of both legacy and cutting-edge devices with a frequency coverage from 9 kHz to 27 GHz and an analysis bandwidth of 160 MHz. In addition to outstanding performance (including ±0.15 dB absolute amplitude accuracy, a mean display noise level (DANL) of -160 dBm with preamplifier, and a third-order intermodulation (TOI) of +30 dBm), the M9393A offers frequency switching in less than 150 microseconds, significantly reducing testing time for performance enhancements.
“The introduction of the M9393A is the culmination of close collaboration between our customers and our development teams to create a revolutionary microwave signal analyzer,” said Mark Pierpoint, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent’s Modular Solutions Division. “In addition to offering single- or multi-channel measurement capabilities in a compact instrument ready for system integration, the PXI form factor provides unprecedented speed and the confidence in measurement results that only Agilent’s industry-proven measurement science can offer.”.
The M9393A leverages Agilent's acclaimed X-Series measurement applications and VSA 89600 software, which offers broad programming compatibility with Agilent benchtop signal analyzers to maximize test code reuse. This enables consistently accurate results across all instrument form factors and throughout the product lifecycle. The new stepped spectrum capability of VSA 89600 software allows the M9393A to measure across 27 GHz in less than 1 second, with a 10 kHz resolution bandwidth, for fast harmonic and spurious measurements. X-Series measurement applications for modular instruments can be used with the M9393A to simplify device compliance testing for LTE, WLAN, and many other protocols.
Beyond the inherent flexibility and scalability of PXI, the M9393A was designed with expandability in mind. With license-key upgrade options for frequency, analysis bandwidth, preamplifiers, and memory, engineers can easily adapt to evolving testing needs by quickly upgrading systems. As new hardware advancements occur, the M9393A's truly modular architecture allows for upgrading or replacing a single module, maximizing the reuse of existing equipment and significantly reducing testing costs.
Agilent's new PXI M9037A integrated controller enhances the measurement capabilities of the M9393A. The M9037A is a high-performance computer designed for complex or multi-chassis systems and secure environments. It features a 2.4 GHz quad-core processor with a data bandwidth of up to 12 GB/s. Based on the Intel i7 4700EQ processor, this high-speed CPU delivers the advantage of high computing speeds, such as those required for error vector magnitude (EVM) and power measurements, accelerating testing and increasing throughput.
