Of particular note are the extremely low phase noise, the high rejection of harmonics, sub-harmonics and spurious noise, and the high output power level.
The series includes models up to 2.5 GHz, 8 GHz, 20 GHz, 26.5 GHz, 40 GHz, and 50 GHz. The new 50 GHz model is the flagship of the product line, offering an unprecedented combination of switching speed and phase noise, thanks to Giga-tronics' patented AHFF (Accumulator High Frequency Feedback) technology. This technology achieves switching speeds of less than 500 ms for 1 GHz hops and 100 ms for smaller hops. This makes the new 2550B up to 10 times faster than equivalent equipment currently on the market.
The exceptional phase noise achieves specifications of -90 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz and -102 dBc/Hz @ 1 kHz on a carrier frequency of 10 GHz, making the 2500B series the ideal solution for radar applications, as well as aerospace, defense and commercial communications including satellite and microwave links, and testing microwave components that require agile signal generators with high signal purity.
The output power is remarkable at +13 dBm at 50 GHz in the standard model (without any optional upgrades). For applications requiring significantly higher power, Giga-tronics offers a full range of signal amplifiers up to +40 dBm up to 10 GHz, +35 dBm up to 20 GHz, +23 dBm up to 40 GHz, and +20 dBm up to 50 GHz.
