This is a low-cost solution suitable for smaller budgets that is already capable of generating all the necessary audio and video signals for TV equipment with a wide color gamut. The R&S DVSG-K10 option allows the R&S DVSG to measure displays with a wide color gamut of up to 12 bits. Furthermore, the R&S Multi Motion measurement sequences improve image quality by checking, for example, blurring and deinterlacing.

New TV devices that support a wide color gamut offer viewers unprecedented image quality. These new image characteristics also need to be checked: brightness, contrast, color, viewing angle, and motion artifacts must be measured. Equipped with the R&S DVSG-K10 option, the R&S DVSG AV generator provides the necessary signals to check these characteristics. The AV generator transmits uncompressed video content with a maximum resolution of 1080p and a PC resolution of up to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). The refresh rate is variable, allowing all relevant refresh rates to be configured according to the supported resolution. The R&S DVSG's extensive measurement signal library supports frame rates that vary from country to country according to the different standards in force.
The R&S DVSG with R&S Multi-Motion measurement sequences is the first reference measurement solution available on the market for evaluating motion artifacts in TVs. Thanks to its motion sequences, the R&S DVSG helps identify defective pixels in LCD or plasma TVs, as well as projectors. The blurring, deinterlacing, and overscan measurements are reproducible and allow for a comprehensive evaluation of the image processing unit's quality in the device under test.
