DDS technology with the synthesizer VCO provides excellent phase noise performance. Combined with baseband performance, the PXIe M9383A signal generator delivers an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 1%, a critical measure of 5G modulated signal performance, for pre-5G 800 MHz wideband waveforms.

Engineers can now create Verizon's pre-5G (5GTF) standard-compliant waveforms validated by Keysight, such as eight 100 MHz OFDM component carriers, for the PXIe signal generator using Keysight's Signal Studio or SystemVue software. The software also allows engineers to create custom waveforms for emerging applications in wireless, new 5G radio (5G NR), and the aerospace and defense sector.

In addition to offering size advantages and faster testing, the PXIe signal generator is scalable and upgradeable. Engineers can add channels to both vector and analog configurations. Users can upgrade frequency, bandwidth, and other performance characteristics as signal standards evolve. Modulation bandwidths up to 2 GHz are supported via external IQ jacks.
