The Lector 7 software offers a remarkable doubling of LTE test speed for a range of mobile devices. Test times for the reference multiband mobile devices* using the Aeroflex 7100 LTE digital radio test rig with Lector 7 have improved by an average of 53%. Completing the entire LTE test suite with Lector 7 now takes only 3 minutes and 5 seconds, compared to 6.5 minutes for the previous version, Lector 6.83. For a full test script covering multiple bands (2G/3G/4G), the test time decreases from 10 minutes to less than 6, a reduction of over 40%.
The final 2G/3G/4G tests were performed using an Aeroflex 7100 LTE test rig and an Aeroflex 4400 2G/3G mobile phone tester. However, the latter can be replaced by a 2201 Service Tester.
“Testing speed is a critical factor in high-volume service centers,” said Roger Perry, product manager at Aeroflex. “The substantial reductions in overall testing times achieved with the Lector 7 reinforce the cost-saving benefits that service centers can gain by using Aeroflex mobile device testing solutions.”
*A European version of a popular Android smartphone was used as the test device.
