Diode Spain presents an innovative combination of cellular, satellite and GPS technology in a single device: the Wavecom Q52Omni Wireless CPU®.

Wireless Modules1-1Based on Wavecom Wireless Microprocessor® technology, the Q52Omni represents unprecedented integration by embedding the control of all three technologies into a single processor, thus enabling significant cost reductions compared to current multiprocessor solutions.
Its power lies at its core, the WMP100 Wireless Microprocessor®, a 32-bit ARM9 processor up to 104 MHz that provides up to 80 MIPS of processing capacity. Together with the Open AT® Software Suite development platform, this allows engineers to develop, debug, compile, embed, and run applications (written in standard ANSI C or Lua) directly on the device, without the need for an external processor, making it suitable for the most demanding M2M (Machine-to-Machine) markets, including automotive and professional mobile products.

The Story of a Shipment
: Locate it. Listen to it. Talk to it.
This is the story of a shipment traveling around the world. (**) Wireless2 modulesUntil now, the most information available about a shipment was its origin, when it passed through warehouses or interconnection terminals, and when it arrived at its destination.
Thanks to the Q52Omni, any shipment can be tracked with 5-meter accuracy in real time from anywhere, its exact condition can be monitored throughout its journey, and preventative measures can even be taken against unforeseen events or damage to the goods during transport.

“All-in-one” for global control.
Capable of withstanding even the harshest environmental conditions, the Q52Omni has been created to enable remote monitoring and control of equipment virtually anywhere in the world. This single device allows for quad-band GSM/GPRS mobile communication and satellite data communication via the Orbcomm satellite network for when the goods are outside the coverage area of mobile operators. The device also has the option of incorporating a GPS receiver, allowing you not only to communicate and interact with your goods or equipment, but also to know its exact location anywhere on the planet.
Wireless3 ModulesORBCOMM is a leading operator in satellite data communications focused on M2M communications. It has a network of 36 low Earth orbit (LEO) geostationary satellites accompanied by a network of gateway Earth Stations (GES) that provide global coverage.
“We truly expect this device to change the way goods and assets are tracked, enabling cost-effective, global monitoring,” said Stefan Lindvall, Wavecom Vice President and Director of the Americas. “The integration and pricing, combined with the services available from our satellite partner ORBCOMM, are sure to enable widespread adoption of this technology, particularly in high-value equipment, transportation, and logistics markets.”

To further reduce the total cost of ownership, the new Q52Omni is compatible with Wavecom's new and secure Intelligent Device Service (IDS) offering. The lifespan of M2M products is increasing rapidly, leading to a dramatic rise in equipment and platform maintenance costs in the field. Wavecom IDS services enable remote and reliable firmware updates for your customers' M2M mobile devices and Open AT® embedded applications via the most powerful and secure web service platform on the market.
