LeCroy's WaveAce oscilloscope family expands with 4-channel models and bandwidths between 40 and 300 MHz

LeCroy's WaveAce series of high-performance oscilloscopes has been expanded with new 4-channel models for fast and efficient troubleshooting. The WaveAce series now covers bandwidths from 40 to 300 MHz, with performance capabilities that allow it to successfully handle a wide range of applications, from education to industry.

LeCroy expands its popular WaveAce™ oscilloscope series with four-channel models ranging from 60 MHz to 300 MHz and a new two-channel 40 MHz model. The four-channel models feature 10 kpts/ch of memory and a sampling rate of 2 GS/s; the 40 MHz model features 4 kpts/ch and a sampling rate of 500 MS/s. All models offer deep memory, a color display, extended measurement capabilities, and advanced triggering to optimize troubleshooting and reduce debugging time. With USB host and device ports, and LAN connectivity, the WaveAce oscilloscopes provide easy access to USB flash drives, direct connection to a PC or printer for data storage, and remote control. All this, combined with their easy user interface, makes WaveAce oscilloscopes the ideal tools for education, debugging, and troubleshooting from 40 MHz to 300 MHz.

Extensive possibilities for more efficient debugging.
Available in bandwidths of 60 MHz, 100 MHz, 200 MHz, and 300 MHz, the new 4-channel models feature a maximum sampling rate of 2 GS/s and up to 20 kpts/ch of memory. This memory depth allows users to capture acquisitions at the maximum sampling rate that are two to three times longer than those of the competition. With 32 automatic measurements implemented, including advanced timing parameters for skew, phase, and edge-to-edge measurements between channels, WaveAce oscilloscopes expand the spectrum for analyzing and understanding waveforms. Additional features such as Pass/Fail testing, user-definable digital filters, and sequential capture mode simplify and shorten debugging times.
Table I lists features such as bandwidth, number of channels, and sampling rate for the models in the WaveAce series, with new models indicated by an asterisk (*). All models include a 5.7-inch color screen with a resolution of 320 x 240.

Instrumentation2Remote Control via USB and LAN:
A new set of remote control commands has been implemented on the 4-channel models to make this series even more versatile. This new set of commands gives you access to all the WaveAce's controls, functions, and measurements from an external PC via the rear USB port or the LAN port. These connections also allow the user to remotely view the waveform and access a virtual front panel.

Saving and Documenting Results:
Documenting results and saving screenshots, waveforms, and settings is very easy with the new models. The internal memory can store up to 20 screenshots and 20 settings. Mass storage is possible by connecting a USB flash drive directly to the oscilloscope's front port. The rear panel USB port also allows for direct printer connection.

Ease of use for faster debugging.
High performance and a comprehensive set of tools are controlled by a highly intuitive user interface available in 11 different languages, including Spanish. Simply pressing one of the front panel buttons provides access to all important controls and menus. All positions and offsets can be reset by simply pressing the adjustment knob. Pressing the V/div control switches between fixed and variable gain, and pressing the T/div control switches between different zoom modes. The front panel buttons that open and close menus are backlit to let the user know which mode the WaveAce is currently operating in.

Compact format
In terms of dimensions, the 2-channel models measure 154 mm x 305 mm x 133 mm and the 4-channel models 159 mm x 336 mm x 133 mm, and weigh 2.3 kg and 3 kg, respectively.
