Many small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) rely on the same Wi-Fi password for both guests and employees. This password can be shared or stolen, creating a security gap in their networks. The Nebula update offers enhanced cloud authentication through Dynamic Personal Pre-Shared Key (DPPSK), a feature available for the first time to SMBs.
With DPPSK, each user receives a unique Wi-Fi password. With just the touch of a button in the Nebula control center, passwords can be customized to expire or last for a specified period. This makes managing Wi-Fi access for multiple users simple, convenient, and secure.
Zyxel is committed to making it even easier for its partners to integrate their systems into Nebula through its growing technology alliance. The latest Nebula update features an open API that allows both managed service providers (MSPs) and system integrators to simplify the process of connecting any device to the Wi-Fi network.

We welcome Zyxel Networks’ decision to open its API to MSPs, enabling our customers—a wide range of SMEs—to provide more secure, easier, and cloud-managed WiFi connectivity services,” explains Jonas Dekkers, co-founder of Complit Networks’ Wiflix project in Belgium. “We have already created our own cloud-based onboarding solution for guests and employees, powered by Azure and G Suite, thanks to Zyxel’s unique DPPSK.”.

With the launch of the new version of Nebula, the management solution is now compatible with Zyxel's GS1350 series of video surveillance switches. These switches offer extended range, as all their PoE ports allow data transmission up to 250 meters, facilitating remote deployment. At the same time, companies can reduce downtime with the Auto PD Recovery feature, which simplifies the restart of faulty power devices. All of this allows administrators to save resources and more easily manage CCTV networks via the cloud, eliminating the need to send engineers on-site.
Multifunctional WiFi access points for businesses on a budget
Finally, thanks to Nebula's new SSID NAT feature, small businesses can configure compatible access points (APs) as routers or gateways capable of assigning IP addresses to wireless devices such as phones or laptops, thus saving on additional network infrastructure.
In addition to the GS1350 video surveillance switches, Nebula also welcomes more products to the family, including the new WiFi 6 APs (WAX650S, WAX510D and NWA110A), the XS1930 multi-gigabit switches, and the GS220 aggregation switches, for a total of 52 compatible devices.
