With a proven heritage of over twenty years, CIR Marine Bronze connectors meet IP67 specifications when mated and are manufactured from an aluminum bronze alloy of iron, nickel, manganese, and lead, making them extremely corrosion-resistant—essential in marine applications such as ships and submarines. ITT ICS Marine Bronze connectors are fully RoHS compliant and available in three different types: CIR Marine Bronze bayonet type, VE-VS Marine Bronze screw-on type conforming to MIL-DTL-5015, and the VGE series (VG96929). In addition, custom CIR Marine Bronze connectors are available for single-use applications. They operate in a temperature range of -55 to +125°C. They are available in the same wide range of sizes and configurations as standard CIR connectors and offer the same electrical characteristics. They are available in versions from 1 to 159 poles and with cable cross-sections ranging from 0.15 to 107 mm²
CIR Marine Bronze bayonet connectors are manufactured to NATO standard VG95234 and offer quick coupling/uncoupling with a locking mechanism that emits an audible click upon successful connection. Shock and vibration resistant, they are waterproof to 10 meters for up to 12 hours with specific washers and gaskets. The threadless design ensures the connection integrity is unaffected by contaminants such as dust and sand. They are rated for up to 20,000 connection cycles.
The ITT CIS Marine Bronze VGE series of high-current connectors conforms to the VG 96929 classification for high-power transmission at low voltage levels. They have the same mating characteristics, mechanical data, and mounting panel dimensions as the standard ITT ICS CIR connectors. Applications include military field equipment, ships, and other offshore vessels.
