Like standard CompactCom modules, the new M12 versions will be available with and without a housing. The housing-free M12 version achieves an IP67 protection rating. This means the product is completely sealed against dust and water. The housing-equipped M12 CompactCom versions offer an IP20 protection rating, just like standard CompactCom modules, with the specified fieldbus connectors. “Anybus CompactCom modules with M12 connectors offer the same functionality as standard CompactCom modules, including complete interchangeability. This means that once the Anybus CompactCom concept is implemented in a product, the desired network can be accessed simply by connecting any CompactCom module.”
