The I/O module is independent of the fieldbus, so simply changing the coupler is enough to easily migrate from one fieldbus system to another. Depending on the customer's requirements, mounting the appropriate fieldbus coupler in front of the u-remote station is sufficient to provide a suitable solution for multiple environments.

The u-remote remote I/O system offers maximum functionality in a very compact design. u-remote is the only system that separates the power supply for inputs and outputs onto two 10 A current lines (the maximum supply current for the I/O modules is 10 A per line). The I/O modules allow for a specific layout of the logic structure for sensors and actuators, something that is not possible with power supply modules. For the user, this translates into greater freedom and design flexibility, and significantly fewer calculations.

In addition to customization, u-remote offers easy commissioning and faster system operation. The web server integrated into the fieldbus coupler allows for system diagnostics and verification before connecting a control unit. Furthermore, the web server simplifies phased commissioning and reduces maintenance time. u-remote requires no special software for remote diagnostics or on-site simulation of inputs and outputs; a standard web browser is sufficient. The
innovative web server design is characterized by its ease of use, clear structure, and simplified navigation thanks to the swipe function. The new interface is also optimized for mobile touchscreens. Another advantage is that the integrated web server can be quickly configured in series, allowing the u-remote configuration to be saved as a file and shared with other stations. User access to the u-remote web server is via USB and the fieldbus interface.

The DeviceNet and CANopen fieldbus couplers support up to 64 I/O modules and operate in a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Naturally, both coupler models comply with current standards and requirements. They weigh 220 grams and have compact dimensions of 120 mm high (128 mm with the extraction lever) x 52 mm wide x 72 mm deep.
