The new two-port Modbus TCP module includes an integrated switch, making it possible to build standard fieldbus-style (daisy-chain) networks instead of connecting all devices with an external switch. This saves money by reducing the need for expensive external switches. It also reduces cabling and simplifies network maintenance.
The Anybus CompactCom module acts as a slave in the Modbus TCP network. It is available with or without an enclosure and is approximately the size of a compact flash card. The module's core consists of the HMS NP30 microprocessor, with its integrated high-speed Ethernet controller, along with RAM and Flash memory for the Modbus TCP device software.
Thanks to integrated web functions (such as dynamic web pages, email, and FTP), you can obtain online statistics, email notifications, and other information about device performance. For example, you can receive an email whenever the machine needs servicing. The two integrated ports provide two 100 Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces with RJ45 connectors.
