Advanced scripting and customizable business logic via open-source Python 3.6 give the Digi IX14 edge computing capabilities to perform operations at the device level, while Digi Remote Manager and its Bluetooth capabilities enable fast, secure, and reliable deployments. Furthermore, an Ethernet port and a serial port can link to a single essential IoT sensor or connect to a sensor network virtually anywhere, while dual SIM slots provide carrier flexibility and fault tolerance for reduced downtime.
The Digi IX14 contains an LTE modem capable of switching to 3G for North America, and a forthcoming version will be able to switch between 3G/2G for Europe. The Digi IX14 has been physically reinforced to withstand extreme environmental conditions, with MIL-STD-810G certification for shock, vibration, and temperature resistance, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Digi Remote Manager is a comprehensive security and device management platform that allows users to monitor, update, and manage Digi smart routers on LTE networks. With simplified connection and setup, automated updates, and device and network monitoring, Digi Remote Manager provides Digi IX14 users with greater ease of use and a higher level of product and network understanding to protect critical assets like never before.
“The next generation of industrial connectivity isn’t just about hardware; it also offers operational efficiency and security insights,” said Scott Nelson, vice president of products, Digi International. “Whether it’s an outdoor digital signage company, a financial services organization with a distributed network of outdoor ATMs, or a utility operator that needs data communication with remote SCADA sites, the Digi IX14 delivers outstanding connectivity along with a deep understanding of devices and networks through tight integration with Digi Remote Manager.”
