On the external connection side, there are 2 REX 100 models available: for standard 3G (GSM) transmission or WAN (DSL).
The Ethernet router is equipped with a 3-port switch, and the mobile network router with a 4-port switch.
All programming and remote maintenance is carried out on the myREX24 VPN portal. Data transmission is encrypted through the VPN tunnel using the secure OpenVPN protocol.
In addition, the new routers have two digital inputs: one serves as a trigger for establishing a connection with the portal server, and the other can be assigned to an alarm function. This allows properly equipped REX-100 routers to send alarm SMS messages and emails. The data packets are transmitted directly to the automation network.
Another new feature is what's known as shSMS wake-up. This trigger function eliminates the need to send an SMS text message or press the "DIAL OUT" button to initiate a connection to myREX24 with mobile network routers. Instead, the SMS text message will be sent to the mobile number defined automatically by the myREX24 portal using shSMS. The previously selected REX router then connects to the myREX24 portal. This reduces router online times and transmission costs.
The router is also configured exclusively within the myREX24 portal. After creating a configuration, you can choose from three transmission methods:
a) The configuration file is saved and then transferred to the REX 100 using a USB flash drive.
b) The configuration is downloaded from the myREX24 portal using the REX 100 router's internet connection (Configuration Transfer Manager = CTM).
c) The configuration is transferred to the REX 100 via the local LAN connection of the PC running shDIALUP.
